MYC JUNIOR YACHT CLUB...BACK IN 2010...WHERE MEMORIES ARE MADE!

Many of you associate our Junior Yacht Club space as the home of the Snack Bar, Pool, Shower facilities and Dock Office. Upstairs has an office and large room which is used by the Junior Sailing and Frostbite programs.
However, this area of our club has a rich history (known by some of you who grew up at MYC) as an actual MYC Junior Clubhouse, utilized and run by its young adult members which has fostered cherished memories and lifelong friendships.
It is with great pleasure we would like to inform you that after speaking with our Commodore and Rear Commodore, a group of parents presented to the Board of Director's the revitalization of the Junior Yacht Club. This task has been approved and we have been working and planning since the fall to make this program a success for 2010. As of today, we have cleaned the space, sanded and painted windows and created a storage area. We have a design for the room which will utilize the space allowing for ping pong, air hockey, crafts, a library and a video set up as well as an area which will be used for Junior Sailing to conduct classroom activities during rainy days.
The Junior Yacht Club is open to - “Any son or daughter of a Class A member or Class C member, who is twelve (12) years of age as of May 1st or is entering the seventh grade in September is eligible for membership and may maintain membership through age eighteen (18).
- The JYC will have an elected group of officers voted in by their peers.
- Members will pay dues.
- All members must adhere to the rules and regulations as set forth in the JYC Constitution.
- No exceptions will be made for disruptive, destructive or dangerous behavior.
- There will be a JYC Board of Trustees comprised of parents who will oversee the activities and officers of the JYC.
The Board of Trustees is planning several social events and fund raisers to make sure this is a successful transition for our young members.
We are also looking for donations to keep the cost of the renovation and set-up at a minimum.

Within the next two weeks, your child, if of age, will receive an invitation and additional information regarding membership to the MYC Junior Yacht Club.
