In this case, SOS is quite the opposite of a distress signal. It is our name for an opportunity for adults to learn to sail or to improve their skills using our fleet of J/22s. Many of the students have no previous experience. Others have been sailing for years, but want to learn from our experienced instructors. I suspect that getting a chance to go sailing with others and meet new friends is the real reason some people join the group. Whatever your motivation, sign up and learn and socialize with other members. The classes six classes over seven weeks and we will sail if weather permits. Land classes are offered if rain or lack of wind prevents going out in the boats. We may offer make-up classes at the end of the season if we can make arrangements with students and instructors.
The classes will start June 26 and run to August 7, skipping July 24 (the day of the Opti Regatta), meeting at 6:00 PM. The fee is $150. Participants must provide their own Coast Guard approved PFD (life jacket).
