WEBINAR Invite: Long Island Sound Blue Plan Draft Policies
The CT DEEP and Blue Plan Advisory Committee invites Connecticut’s Recreational Boaters and Sailors to a webinar to discuss the first draft of the policies proposed to be included in the Long Island Sound Blue Plan (www.ct.gov/deep/lisblueplanpolicy).The Webinar is Tuesday, November 27th 7pm.
The stated purpose of the Blue Plan is “to protect the natural resources and traditional human uses of Long Island Sound, while allowing for sustainable and compatible future uses and a vibrant LIS economy; it is not to impact any existing activities; rather, they will provide clearer, enforceable guidance for how future permitting decisions are to be made under several specified existing state and local regulatory programs.”
The Plan is being developed with the input of user communities to reflect their insights and priorities so these can be included in the Plan. The information in the Blue Plan is intended to be used by existing users, new applicants, and the permit-issuing agencies to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
The Blue Plan Advisory Committee requests your help in determining how these draft policies represent Connecticut’s vision for Long Island Sound and have arranged a webinar to discuss the process and draft polices with Connecticut’s Recreational Boaters and Sailors.
Please join the webinar on November 27th at 7:00pm to hear more. Please RSVP or send any comments or feedback toDEEP.LISBluePlan@ct.gov , or call Christian Fox at 203.568.6307.
