Tradition & history are core to the success of the MYC, “Breakfast at the Club” is a new tradition.
From a historical perspective the term “breakfast” referred to the first meal of the day breaking the fast from the prior evening. However, “dinner” comes from the Old French word “disnar”, which when translated in fact means “breakfast”. Traditionally dinner (meaning ‘breakfast’) was the first meal of the day, eaten around noon. It also happened to be the biggest meal of the day, with a lighter meal coming later known as supper.
So gradually this meal that bears the name (translated) “breakfast” is now the meal we eat before we start the fast and the literal translation of “dinner” is now the word we used to describe our early morning meal of breakfast.
